O YOU who have attained to faith! Remember God with unceasing remembrance, 41 And exalt Him morning and afternoon. 42 He it is Who sends blessings on you, as do His angels, that He may bring you out from the depths of Darkness into Light: and He is Full of Mercy to the Believers. 43 Their salutation on the day that they meet Him shall be, Peace, and He has prepared for them an honourable reward. 44 O Prophet! Truly We have sent thee as a Witness, a Bearer of Glad Tidings, and Warner,- 45 and as one who summons [all men] to God by His leave, and as a light-giving beacon. 46 Give to the believers the glad tidings that with Allah there is for them a great bounty. 47 Do not listen to the unbelievers and the hypocrites. Ignore what they do to hurt you, and put your trust in God. God is sufficient as protector. 48 O You who have believed, when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, then there is not for you any waiting period to count concerning them. So provide for them and give them a gracious release. 49 O Herald of the Hidden! We have indeed made lawful for you the wives to whom you have paid their bridal money, and the bondwomen you possess whom Allah gave you as war booty, and the daughters of your paternal uncles, and the daughters of your paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles, and the daughters of your maternal aunts, those who migrated with you; and the believing woman if she gifts her life to the Prophet, if the Prophet desires to take her in marriage; this is exclusively for you, not for your followers; We indeed know what We have enjoined upon the Muslims concerning their wives and the bondwomen they possess – this exclusivity for you is so that you may not have constraints; and Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful. 50 ۞ [know that] thou mayest put off for a time whichever of them thou pleasest, and mayest take unto thee whichever thou pleasest; and [that,] if thou seek out any from whom thou hast kept away [for a time,] thou wilt incur no sin [thereby]: this will make it more likely that their eyes are gladdened [whenever they see thee,] and that they do not grieve [whenever they are overlooked,] and that all of them may find contentment in whatever thou hast to give them: for God [alone] knows what is in your hearts - and God is indeed all-knowing, forbearing. 51 Thereafter women will not be lawful for you, and it will not be lawful for you to take other wives in place of them, even though their beauty might please you, unless they be those whom your right hand owns. Allah is watchful over everything. 52
