The unbelievers say: "We do not believe in this Qur'an, nor in what was (sent) before it." If only you could see the sinners when they are made to stand before their Lord, blaming one another! Those who were weak will say to those who were arrogant: "But for you we would have certainly been believers." 31 [And] those who were wont to glory in their arrogance will say unto those who had been weak: "Why - did we keep you [forcibly] from following the right path after it had become obvious to you? Nay, it was but you [yourselves] who were guilty!" 32 And those who were deemed weak will say unto those who were stiff necked: aye, it was your plotting by night and by day, when ye were commanding us that we should disbelieve in Allah and set up peers unto Him. And they will keep secret their shame when they behold the torment. And We shall place shackles on the necks of those who disbelieved. They shall be requited not save according to that which they had been working. 33 We never sent a warner to any town but its wealthy ones said: “We disbelieve in the Message you have brought.” 34 And they said, "We are more [than the believers] in wealth and children, and we are not to be punished." 35 Say, "Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it], but most of the people do not know." 36
