And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 And We have placed in it gardens of dates and grapes, and We have made springs of water in it. 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 And the moon! For it We have decreed mansions till it reverteth like the old branch of a palm-tree. 39 The sun cannot overtake the moon, nor can the night outpace the day: each floats in [its own] orbit. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 And if We will, We can drown them, so there would be no help in their distress, nor would they be saved. 43 except through Our Mercy and as enjoyment for awhile. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 Then they cannot make bequest, nor can they return to their own folk. 50
