And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him Who created all the sexual pairs, of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves, and of that which they know not! 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 We have created for them the like of it in which they ride. 42 Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them 43 Unless by mercy from Us, and as a comfort for a while. 44 And when it is said to them: "Beware of that which is before you (worldly torments), and that which is behind you (torments in the Hereafter), in order that you may receive Mercy (i.e. if you believe in Allah's Religion Islamic Monotheism, and avoid polytheism, and obey Allah with righteous deeds). 45 And whenever a sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, they always turn away from it! 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 And they add, "When is this promise [of resurrection] to be fulfilled? [Answer this] if you are men of truth!" 48 [And they are unaware that] nothing awaits them beyond a single blast [of God's punishment,] which will overtake them while they are still arguing - [against resurrection]: 49 and so [sudden will be their end that] no testament will they be able to make, - nor to their own people will they return! 50
