And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 and produced therein grains from which they eat and established therein gardens of palms trees and vineyards and have made streams flow therein 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof; and their hands worked it not. Will they not, therefore, give thanks? 35 Holy is He Who created all things in pairs, whether it be of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they do not know. 36 Of the signs for them is how We separated the day from the night and thus they remained in darkness; 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 The sun cannot overtake the moon, nor can the night outpace the day: each floats in [its own] orbit. 40 And [it ought to be] a sign for them that We bear their offspring [over the seas] in laden ships, 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 It is only by Our mercy that they are granted provision for a time. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. 46 And when it is said to them: “Spend (in the Way of Allah) out of the sustenance that Allah has provided you,” the unbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed him whom, Allah would have fed, had He so wished?” Say: “You are in evident error.” 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people. 50
