And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 and produced therein grains from which they eat and established therein gardens of palms trees and vineyards and have made streams flow therein 34 so that they may eat of the fruit thereof, though it was not their hands that made it. Will they not, then, be grateful? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 And the night is another Sign for them. We strip the day from it and they become plunged in darkness. 37 The sun runs to its fixed resting place; that is the decree of the Almighty, the Knower. 38 And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm-leaf. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And a sign unto them is that We bear their offspring in a laden ship. 41 And We have created for them similar ships, in which they now ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 unless it be a mercy from us, and as an enjoyment for a season. 44 When it is said to such people: “Guard yourselves against what is ahead of you and what has preceded you that mercy be shown to you” (they pay scant heed to it). 45 yet never any sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them, but they are turning away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: "Spend of that with which Allah has provided you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He (Himself) would have fed? You are only in a plain error." 47 They also say: 'When will this promise be, if what you say is true' 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
