Let the dead earth be a Sign for them. We gave it life and produced from it grain whereof they eat. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful? 35 Holy is He Who created all things in pairs, whether it be of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. 37 And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 It is not permitted to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day: each in an orbit, they float. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark (of Noah). 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 Unless by Our benevolence, to reap advantage for a time. 44 When they are told, "guard yourselves against what is before you and what is behind you, in order that you may be shown mercy," [they turn away]. 45 Never does any Sign of their Lord come to them, but they turn away from it. 46 and when they are told, "Give to others out of what God has provided for you," those who are bent on denying the truth say to the believers, "Why should we feed those whom God could feed if He wanted? You are clearly in error!" 47 And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 Then they cannot make bequest, nor can they return to their own folk. 50
