And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 And We have created for them similar ships, in which they now ride. 42 Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them 43 But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time. 44 And when it is said unto them: fear that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy, they withdraw. 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 And they say: "When will this promise (i.e. Resurrection) be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 Then they will not be able to make a will or return to their families. 50
