And a sign for them is the dead land, that We quickened and brought forth from it grain, whereof they eat; 33 and [how] We make gardens of date-palms and vines [grow] thereon, and cause springs to gush [forth] within it, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 [and] neither may the sun overtake the moon, nor can the night usurp the time of day, since all of them float through space [in accordance with Our laws]. 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 and created for them similar things to ride. 42 Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 When it is said to them: "Beware of what is before you and what is past, that you may be treated with kindness;" 45 Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it! 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?" 48 They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing. 49 Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people. 50
