The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who establish proper ranks. 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 And those who recite the message, 3 Verily your Ilah (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allah); 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So, ask those who deny the truth if it was harder to create them than all the other things We have created? We created them from sticky clay. 11 Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking. 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
