The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, 3 surely your God is One, 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 (Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic! 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 “And also our forefathers?” 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!" 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
