The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 Verily your Ilah (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allah); 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; 12 And when they are reminded, they remember not. 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic! 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 They will say, "Woe to us! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
