The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the rangers ranging 1 By the angels driving away. 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 rejected, and theirs is an everlasting chastisement, 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay. 11 Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule, 12 And when they are warned they pay no heed. 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
