The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who range themselves in rows; 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 And those who recite the message, 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 and driven away to suffer the necessary torment. 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 And heed not when they are reminded, 13 And when they see a sign, they ridicule 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
