The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are darted at from every side. 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 And our fathers too?" 17 Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.' 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
