The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 surely, your God is One, 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side. 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 And when they are reminded, they pay no attention. 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 Is it ever possible that after we die and are reduced to dust and (a skeleton of) bones, we will be raised to life? 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)." 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
