The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 surely, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And to guard against every rebellious devil. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. 11 No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. 12 And when they are reminded, they remember not. 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 They will then say: “Woe for us. This is the Day of Judgement.” 20 “Yes, this is the Day of Final Decision that you used to deny as a lie.” 21

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
