1/2 Hizb 45
< random >
۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
