۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
