1/2 Hizb 45

۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
