۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 Are we not then to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
