۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of delight, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Are we not then to die 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
