And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
