And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
