Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
