3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
