3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
