Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail – peace be upon them – is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
