And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
