Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
