Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
