We also favored Moses and Aaron 114 And rescued them and their people from the great calamity. 115 We helped them and they were victorious. 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 And showed them the right path. 118 and perpetuated their praise in later generations. 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 This is how We reward the virtuous. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers, 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 "Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 except for God's sincere servants; 128 We preserved a good name for him among posterity. 129 'Peace be upon Elias!' 130 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 131 For he was one of our believing Servants. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 Except an old woman, who became of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 And most surely you pass by them in the morning, 137 and by night. Will you not, then, use your reason? 138
