Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 We helped them, and they became victorious, 116 We gave them the explicit Book, 117 and showed them the Straight Way, 118 and preserved for them a good name among posterity. 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 When he said to his people, “Do you not fear?” 124 Do you call on Baal, and abandon the Best of creators? 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients?' 126 But they belied him, so they will be among the arraigned (in Hell), 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 'Peace be upon Elias!' 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 132 Lot was certainly a Messenger. 133 We saved him and all his kinsmen, 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning 137 And at night-time; have ye then no sense? 138
