Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
We also favoured Moses and Aaron, 114 And delivered them and their people from the great affliction. 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We left for the twain among the posterity: 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 121 Verily the twain were of Our bondmen believing. 122 And indeed Ilyas is one of the Noble Messengers. 123 when he spoke [thus] to his people: "Will you not remain conscious of God? 124 Do you call upon Baal and forsake the Best of the Creators? 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers?" 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 Except the chosen creatures of God. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 'Peace be upon Elias!' 130 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 131 for he was truly one of Our believing servants! 132 Lot, too, was among the Messengers. 133 Wherefore We saved him and his entire family 134 Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers]. 135 and We destroyed the others. 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 and at night. Will you then not understand? 138
