Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 and We delivered both of them and their people from the great calamity. 115 And We helped them, so they overcame (their troubles); 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture 117 And We guided them on the straight path. 118 and preserved for them a good name among posterity. 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 121 Lo! they are two of Our believing slaves. 122 Elias was certainly a Messenger. 123 (Call to mind) when he said to his people: “Will you not fear Allah? 124 Do you call upon Baal and forsake the Best of the Creators? 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up. 127 Except the chosen slaves of Allah. 128 We preserved a good name for him among posterity. 129 Salamun (peace) be upon Ilyasin (Elias)!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 132 So also was Lut among those sent (by Us). 133 Wherefore We saved him and his entire family 134 except for an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
