We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 And saved them and their people from the great distress, 115 and We helped them, so that they were victorious; 116 and We gave them the Manifesting Book, 117 And showed them the right path. 118 and left for them among the later folk 119 Peace be unto Musa and Harun. 120 This is how We reward the virtuous. 121 Indeed they are two of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allah? 124 "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,- 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients?' 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 128 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 In this way do We reward the righteous ones. 131 He is truly among Our faithful devotees. 132 And indeed, Lot was among the messengers. 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind; 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 And surely ye pass by them in the morning. 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
