Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
