Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
