And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 So you and your deities 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 we are the rangers, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And there were those who said, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
