Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 And there were those who said, 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
