Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 will certainly be victorious 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
