And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
