Hizb 46
< random >
So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 They used to say: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
