Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That they would be helped, 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
