Hizb 46

And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

Notes and Instructions

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
