Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 What though they would say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
