Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
