And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 They say, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
