S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Sad. I swear by the Quran, which is full of reminders of God, (that you are a Messenger). 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape. 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We have not heard of this in later religion. This is naught but an invention. 7 Can it be that he alone has received the Quran?" In fact, they have doubts about My Quran and this is because they have not yet faced (My) torment. 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Or is theirs the kingdom of the heavens and earth and of what between them is? Why, then let them ascend the cords! 10 This is just one of the disgraced armies, that will be routed there and then. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. 13 Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified. 14
