S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
SAD. I CALL to witness the admonishing Qur'an. 1 But those who disbelieve are in pride and dissension. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them who cried (for mercy) when it was too late for escape. 3 And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar. 4 They say, "Has he condemned all other gods but One? This is certainly strange". 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication. 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your, (Muhammad's), Lord, the Majestic and Munificent God? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes! 10 A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 And (the tribe of) Thamud, and the folk of Lot, and the dwellers in the wood: these were the factions. 13 There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath. 14
